Trustly at Laimz

Open banking is the route that fits the Latvian market most naturally, because it uses the infrastructure people already trust for everything else. You pay from your own bank account, you confirm the way you confirm any other payment, and no card number is involved at any point.

What the route actually does

A manual bank transfer asks you to copy an IBAN, an amount and a payment reference into your banking app, and it works — but a mistyped reference means an unallocated payment and a conversation with support. Open banking removes that failure mode. The provider prepares the payment, you review it inside your own bank at Swedbank, SEB, Citadele or Luminor, and you authorise it with Smart-ID. The reference cannot be wrong because you never typed it.

Because the confirmation happens in the bank environment, no credentials are shared with the operator or with anyone else in the chain. That is the structural difference between open banking and the older practice of entering bank passwords on a third-party page, and it is why the model became standard across the Baltic and Nordic markets rather than a niche option.

Depositing

  1. Open the cashier and select the open-banking route.
  2. Choose your bank from the list and enter a euro amount, generally from about 10 € upwards.
  3. Review the prepared payment inside your bank interface and authorise it with Smart-ID.
  4. The balance updates immediately — the credit is matched automatically rather than by reference lookup.

As with every route at a licensed operator, the bank account must be in your own name. Money can only be returned to the identified account holder, and that requirement comes from the Latvian licence rather than from the operator’s preference.

Withdrawing

This is where the route earns its place. A payout goes back to the account you paid from and moves on the SEPA schedule, so a verified account normally sees the money the same day or on the next working day. Compare that with the one to three working days a Visa or Mastercard refund needs and the trade-off is obvious for anyone who withdraws regularly.

Operator approval still precedes the transfer, and what pending status means during that window is explained on the payout page. Minimums and ceilings per request are shown in the cashier and take precedence over any figure quoted here.

Euro throughout

The payment leaves a euro account, the balance is denominated in euro and the payout returns in euro. Nothing converts, so no margin is taken anywhere in the chain — a small but permanent advantage over accounts held in a currency your bank does not carry, where a spread applies in both directions.

Before you authorise anything

Check the domain against the register published by IAUI, the Izložu un azartspēļu uzraudzības inspekcija, and against the IAUI list of sites blocked for serving Latvian players without a licence. An authorised bank payment has no chargeback mechanism behind it, so verification genuinely matters more here than with a card. Note also that a legitimate open-banking flow always ends inside your own bank app; a page asking you to enter banking credentials on the site itself is not one, and our mirrors page explains why lookalike domains circulate.

Deposit limits in the account and the IAUI self-exclusion register, which applies across every licensed operator in Latvia for a term the player selects, are described under responsible gambling. Payments are for adults aged 18 and over.

FAQ

What is open banking doing that a normal transfer does not?
It removes the manual step. Instead of copying operator details and a reference into your bank app, you authorise a payment that the provider has already prepared, so the amount and reference cannot be mistyped and the credit is matched instantly. The money still travels as a bank payment from your own account at Swedbank, SEB, Citadele or Luminor.
Do I hand over my bank login to anyone?
No. The authentication happens inside your own bank environment, and in Latvia that normally means confirming with Smart-ID exactly as you would for any other payment. The payment provider receives confirmation that the payment was authorised; it does not receive your banking credentials from the operator or from this site.
Can I take money out through the same route?
Yes, and this is its main advantage over a card. A payout returns to the account you paid from and settles on the SEPA schedule, which in practice means the same day or the next working day. A card payout, by contrast, travels back as a scheme refund and typically takes one to three working days.
