Sticky Coin: Hold the Spin, where the grid grows while the round is running
Dated 18 July 2024, this is the oldest release covered on the site and still one of the clearest illustrations of what hold-and-win actually is. The word sticky in the title is not decoration: the behaviour of the locking coins is precisely what determines the value of the bonus round.
The second distinguishing trick is a grid that changes size mid-round. Most hold-and-win slots work in a fixed frame, so the maximum number of coins is known before the round starts. Here new positions can appear while the round is live, and the ceiling moves with them.
The game itself: studio, grid and figures
The base layout is 3-5-3 with 45 betways, and the bonus can add up to two positions. Return needs care: Gamzix supplies four builds — 92 %, 94 %, 95 % and 96 % — and the operator chooses. Four percentage points between the worst and best version is a wide spread by any standard, which makes checking the info panel more consequential in this game than in most. Volatility runs medium-to-high and the published ceiling is 5,000x the stake.

Bonus features
The round is a modified hold-and-win: coins lock onto the grid and the respin counter refreshes whenever a new one lands. Two special coin types sit on top of that. Sticky Royal Coins hold their position and absorb the values of coins landing nearby, which is why a well-placed pair can outscore a screen full of scattered coins. Expand Coins add reel positions, and every added position is another slot for a coin to occupy.
Jackpot levels run from 25x to 1,000x the stake and are fixed rather than pooled. That is the trade this game makes: the top prize is far smaller than a network jackpot, and correspondingly far less remote.
Stakes and limits
The 0.10 € floor is what makes this a sensible place to learn the format — a 20 € budget buys two hundred spins, enough to see the bonus land more than once. The 30 € ceiling is best read as a warning rather than an invitation: the same budget disappears inside a minute at that stake. Since jackpots scale with the bet, raising the stake raises the prize without improving the odds, and that trade is worth settling before the session rather than halfway through it.
Demo mode and bonus wagering
Play money shows you the two things text cannot: how often a sticky coin actually holds, and how rarely the grid expands to its full size. Those spins pay nothing and clear no requirement. With a bonus running, slots normally contribute in full — the wagering requirements page turns the multiplier into euros and hours. Watch the maximum bet clause here in particular, because a stake ladder reaching 30 € makes it very easy to breach by accident. The offer structure is covered on the welcome bonus page, and spin packages on the free spins page.
